Compared to a ballpoint, rollerball ink flows more freely and lays down a richer line, which many people find more comfortable for longer writing sessions like journaling, letter writing or note-taking. The trade-off is that rollerball ink can take slightly longer to dry, so left-handed writers in particular may want to test before committing to a daily-use pen.
